The chemistry of how
happiness works is very complicated. There are 4 main chemicals that can cause
happiness in your brain. They are called serotonin, dopamine, endorphin, and
oxytocin. They all have their specific purpose and each usually creates a
specific type of
reaction in the brain. For instance one will make you
feel relaxed and another one will make you feel rewarded. All of these
chemicals have their negative effects too. There are also systems in the brain
that control your emotions, such as the limbic system. It is fascinating to see how these chemicals come together in our brains in their own harmonious ways to affect our mood so that we experience happiness.
